SPEECH OF HON'BLE GOVERNOR PUNJAB AND ADMINISTRATOR, UT CHANDIGARH, SHRI BANWARILAL PUROHIT ON THE OCCASION OF LAUNCHING OF GATI SHAKTI ? NATIONAL MASTER PLAN AT CHANDIGARH ON 13.10.2021.

I welcome all the senior officers of Chandigarh Administration and other distinguished guests from Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce & Industries who have joined us today on launch of Gati Shakti-National Master Plan by Hon?ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modiji.

Our Hon?ble Prime Minister had announced the project on this Independence Day with a vision to make a foundation for holistic infrastructure and give an integrated pathway to our economy. This plan will act as a transformative governance tool by bringing 16 Central Government departments together for the planning of all infrastructure connectivity projects.I am certain that this plan will give a major push for connecting major industrial clusters across the country.

The Gati Shakti project is aimed at making Indian products more competitive by cutting down the logistics costs and improving supply chains. This plan will bring in holistic planning and development across the country. All economic zones and infrastructure developments depicted in an integrated platform will provide spatial visibility of physical linkages to promote comprehensive and integrated multi modal National network of transportation and logistics.

The Master plan will provide an impetus to the global profile of local manufacturers. It will also help them to compete with their counterparts across the world, and will also increase the possibilities of new future economic zones. It gives me great pleasure in sharing with you all that with the inception of this project, employment opportunities will be created for the youth in future.

I hope that this initiative of the Central Government will be of immense benefit to the manufacturing industries in Chandigarh which are engaged in producing components for local industries and will also give a great push to export activity in and around Chandigarh.

At the end, I would like to congratulate our Hon?ble Prime Minister for taking transformative steps towards the development of Modern India. Under his guidance, I am certain we will be able to enhance our country?s global competitiveness.

Thank you,
Jai Hind.
